Originally presented at Longwall USA 2005. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has been studying their operational aspects with regard to dust control performance. This research has shown that dust control performance is highly dependent upon engineering control application parameters. This paper discusses these optimal control parameters observed from numerous NIOSH laboratory and field studies.
